Where do you find the best universities in the world? Well, pretty much anywhere - including Israel! Today Israel is one of the leading countries in terms of science and education. Its university system was shaped according to the American model and is one of the youngest in the world but at the same time one of the strongest!
Israel's universities are highly respected and well-known in the education and academic communities, and they continue to offer prestigious Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD programmes for enthusiastic, ambitious and driven adventurers like you.
Have you dreamed to become a Nobel Prize winner? Maybe these options would be right for you!
Here are my TOP Universities in Israel:
1. Weizmann Institute of Science
The Weizmann Institute of Science is one of the leading interdisciplinary basic research institutes in the natural and exact sciences in the world.
An interesting feature: Weizmann only accepts master and doctoral programs.
2. Technion-Israel Institute of Technology
Consistently ranked among the world's leading scientific and technical research universities, the Technion is Israel's first university (founded in 1912). The 2011 Nobel Prizes in Chemistry for the discovery of quasicrystals, and the distinguished professors Abraham Gershko and Aaron Ciechanover for the discovery of ubiquitin in 2011, is a clear demonstration of the collective power of Technion and the environment that stimulates innovation.
Fun fact: The Technion is named one of the ten universities with the highest percentage of Nobel laureates among the teaching staff. And the only non-American university in this ranking.
3. The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is famous for its world-renowned professors and scientists, as well as Nobel Prize winners. Albert Einstein bequeathed all his letters and manuscripts to the Hebrew University, as well as the commercial rights to his image and name.
Interesting fact: an asteroid is named after the university.
4. Tel-Aviv University
Tel Aviv University has become the largest institution of higher education in Israel, where a wide variety of disciplines are studied.
Interesting fact: TAU ranks 22nd in the world in terms of citation of the work of its employees.
5. Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
The Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is one of Israel’s leading research universities and among the world leaders in many fields with about 20,000 students. More than 800 senior and 1,100 junior faculty members work together with their graduate students in advanced laboratories, in the framework of more than 60 inter-disciplinary research centres.
In addition to pure research, Ben-Gurion University is also focused on applied research.
