In my humble opinion: Microbe Hunters by Paul de Cruif

Recently I updated my library with a new scientific book! I should say it is quite old, was written in 1926, but worth to be on your shelf. I was pleased to see how well and accessible microbiology was explained in this book. It is not only restricted to microbiology but also immunology, virology and other fields of life sciences through the discoveries of great minds. Just imagine you could do your PhD by inventing Pasteur glass pipettes or design a vaccine that will change the whole history. The language of the book is written in a way, that it is very easy to follow the author. Sometimes, in cosy evenings I go back to this book to enjoy a writing style and the fact how interesting the information was given to a reader!

So, if you are keen on studying biology, it would be a great book to start with!

P.S. you can order this book from amazon :https://www.amazon.com/Microbe-Hunters-Paul-Kruif/dp/0156027771
